A Liverpool fan calling Paul Scholes “Red Mark Nobel” goes viral again

He may have lifted 11 Premier League titles with Manchester United in his trophy-rich career, but Paul Scholes is “just a red-haired Mark Noble” and a “far” match for Jordan Henderson’s lace-up boots.

So says ‘big’ Liverpool fan Craig, who was asked to express his unpopular opinion in the video, which has gone viral again, almost three years after it first aired.

Scholes, of course, will go down in history as one of the greatest of all time. In 20 years, he made 718 appearances for Manchester United, winning four FA Cups and two Champions League titles.

And many of all time glorified the former midfielder lyrically.

Zinedine Zidane called Scholes the toughest opponent he had ever faced in his career, while former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry said they were “always, always, always afraid” of what he might do.

Former teammate Rio Ferdinand also gave an insight into his talent, saying: “In training, he does funny things like saying, ‘See that tree over there? – will be 40 yards away – “I’m going to hit it.” And he will.” Everyone at the club considers him the best.”

But despite all the accolades and accolades, Liverpool fan Craig is not convinced.

“My unpopular opinion is that Paul Scholes is totally overrated and Jordan Henderson is the better fighter,” said Craig. 888sports.

He added: “I’m sick of hearing the ‘Gerrard-Scholes-Lampard’ debate; Scholes is not one of them.

“Jordan Henderson had a progressive career. He led the English under-21 team and captained the England national team.

This man is dominant in midfield, can play in any position and every manager he has worked with trusts him implicitly.

“Scholes isn’t even fit to lace Jordan Henderson’s shoes. He’s none other than the red-headed Mark Noble, and that’s my unpopular opinion.”

There is no doubt how far the former Sunderland midfielder has come under Jürgen Klopp in the last few years, but is he better than Paul Scholes? We’re not so sure, and many fans reacted to the clip online.

One said: “Paul Scholes could now go directly to a sporting class, put on a £20 pair of football boots, show up to a game and still be better than Henderson”, while another simply commented: “Damn.”

A third wrote: “He opens Twitter, sees a Liverpool fan saying Henderson is better than Scholes, closes Twitter.”
