The latest system update for the PS5 consoles is here and not only adds the usual extra layer of stability to the system, but also supports Sony’s high-tech DualSense Edge controller. In addition to the trademark message “this system software update improves system performance”, the patch notes also reveal that “DualSense Edge wireless controller is now supported” in PS5 update 22.02-06.50.00.
If you missed it when it was first announced, the DualSense Edge is Sony’s new premium controller that combines a high-quality design with a surprising amount of customization. This level of customization is easy to play with and you can swap out analog stick modules, stick caps and more to configure your device to your specific gaming needs.
Owning a PS5 is expensive as the DualSense Edge will cost $200 when it releases on January 26. At least it includes a nice white hard case for the price.
“DualSense Edge seems like a nice option for PlayStation owners who may have looked at Xbox’s pro-controller offerings with envy,” Jake Dekker wrote in GameSpot’s DualSense Edge preview. “For $200, you get a controller with a familiar chassis, improved ergonomics, some new feature options, and a good level of customization.”
If you want to get one for yourself, DualSense Edge pre-orders are still available.
