The voice cast has been revealed

Also this week, Warner Bros. released a new video featuring the cast of voice actors featured in the game. One big revelation was about director Phineas Nigellus Black, played by Simon Pegg. In the film, Pegg explains that this headmaster is the “least popular” in Hogwarts history, as well as Sirius Black’s great-great-grandfather. Players should be wary of this cunning character who will try to “undermine the player’s efforts”. This headmaster also sounds like a rather unlikable wizard, as he would rather deal with his “manicured beard” than with his actual duties at Hogwarts, which is a far cry from the beloved Dumbledore. He basically took on the role for prestige, not as an educator. It’s great that Simon Pegg portrayed such a character, who wouldn’t want a comedic actor to be their director? This is likely to cause a love-hate relationship with this principal for most, due to the character’s pompous demeanor. Either way, I can’t wait to see how this role plays out.

If you’re wondering where you’ve seen Phineas before, he actually appears in both the books and movies. His portrait hangs in Dumbledore’s study. But this time, players will be able to see him alive and in person. While the magical portrait usually only shows a small part of the character’s life, it looks like we’ll see much more of Phineas in the game. He doesn’t sound like a very likeable character, even though he’s related to Sirius Black, they don’t look alike at all. Being labeled as “noble” or “selfish” can be both embarrassing and helpful to a player.

The full cast of voice talents has been revealed: Lesley Nicol as Professor Matilda Weasley, the Deputy Headmaster of Hogwarts, and Kandace Caine as Professor Onai, a Divination teacher and gifted Seer. Then there is Sohm Kapila as Professor Satyavati Shah, an astronomy teacher.

There is also a returning cast member from the original films who will take on a different role. Luke Youngblood, who played Lee Jordon, the school’s energetic Quidditch commentator, will play Ravenclaw student Everett Clopton. He is a little rebellious as he is described as “a failed rule-breaker and prankster”. This is in stark contrast to Asif Ali’s Ravenclaw, Mahendra Pehlwaan, who is “an avid guardian of the rules.”

The game’s playable character is also voiced by either Sebastian Croft or Amelia Gething, whichever option you choose. The infamous Nearly Headless Nick and the Sorting Hat are voiced by Jason Anthony. The Sorting Hat is such an interesting object that it can determine where students will be placed in terms of houses. It will look at the student’s past, characteristics, and intentions to determine whether they will be Hufflepuff, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Gryffindor.

Other magical updates

The Wizarding World website confirmed some details about the game in the version FAQ. In case you missed it, it’s been explained that by mysteriously enrolling at Hogwarts as a fifth-year student, you’ll have your own Sorting Ceremony (this was previously shown in teaser snippets). If you already own a house from using Wizarding World, you can link your account to WB Games to use the same. This also includes transferring the wand of our choice from the Wand Ceremony into the game. You can also fly in the game using a broomstick or a hippogriff, so if you’ve ever wanted to explore the terrain from above, now’s your chance.

Hogwarts Legacy has quite a few pre-orders, topping the Steam charts already in the top 10 for sales, even though it’s yet to be released. It also won the title of most requested game. But the franchise was not a bed of roses as controversy prevailed. His relationship with author J.K. Rowling, the author of the original Harry Potter book series on which the game is based, has not been ignored and has led many to boycott the game altogether after the author’s controversial comments. Despite this, fans of the series made the game to the top of the Steam charts.

Hogwarts Legacy will be released on February 10 for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. 72-hour early access is available to those who purchase the deluxe edition. While PS4 and Xbox One players will have to wait until April 4 for these versions. The Switch version will not be released until July 25.
